New! Zyoptix Aspheric technology is now available!
Clearvision continually invests in cutting edge technology and techniques. The clinic is currently a leading pioneer in the world in EpiLasik, the new frontier in laser vision correction. Its impressive hardware inventory includes the Bausch and Lomb's Hansatome and XP microkeratome, the Moria EpiLasik microkeratome, the AMO Amadeus II Lasik and EpiLasik microkeratome and the advanced Bausch and Lomb Zyoptic 217z 100 wavefront excimer lasik with iris tracking technology and advanced diagnostics.
Clearvision is proud to announce the acquisition of Bausch and Lomb new
Zyoptix Aspheric technology for better lasik results.
What is Zyoptix Aspheric technology?
The normal cornea of the human eye does not possess a perfect spherical
surface. It is more curved in the center region and less curved in the
peripheral region. This is called a prolate cornea. All lasik surgery
to correct myopia involves a flattening of the natural curve of the cornea
(turning it into an oblate cornea). Aspheric technology does not
flatten this natural curve as much and thus better preserves the natural curve.
Scientic studies have shown that Zyoptix Aspheric lasik results in lower
incidences of glare and halo at night, produces better low contrast visual
acuity, and induces less higher order aberrations. Overall, this results in
better patient satisfaction with the procedure.

FAQs about Zyoptix Aspheric
|
|
|
What is the shape of my cornea and how is it changed after LASIK? Your cornea is naturally aspheric (or elliptical) in shape. In standard LASIK treatment for myopia, the shape of
your cornea is altered slightly. It may lead to some side effects such as poorer night vision after standard LASIK.

What are the side effects of LASIK?
Side effects of LASIK include spherical aberrations (a kind of visual distortion) which causes haloes around bright lights, starbursts or glares and reduced visual contrast under dim lighting or night conditions (as seen in figures below). |

Why will I benefit from Bausch & Lomb’s Zyoptix Aspheric treatment?
Zyoptix Aspheric will significantly reduce post LASIK surgery night vision problems for patients prone to above side effects. In the clinical study of 170 eyes, patients were able to see better at night or in low light conditions. |
